A call for tender is open for the award of a research initiation grant (BII) within the scope of the R&D institution Research Center in Psychology of the Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa, with the reference UIDB/04345/2020, with the financial support of Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia (FCT) and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education (MCTES), through national funds (PIDDAC), under the following conditions:
Research Initiation Scholarship (BII) (1 vacancy) 2021
Admission requirements:
Degree student in Psychology (2nd or 3rd year) or Master's in Psychology (1st year).
preference criteria
– Frequency of the 1st year of the Master in Psychology;
– Hourly availability.
Work plan
Integration in a research project in the field of Psychology, specifically with field data collection and transcription of data collection interviews. The objectives to be achieved are: 1) obtaining a set of research protocols completed by the research participants; 2) obtaining transcripts of a set of clinical interviews for further analysis.

Workplace
The work will be carried out in person at the premises of the CIP – Research Center in Psychology, of the Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa, Rua de Santa Marta, 47, 3rd floor, gab. 304, under the guidance of Professor Rute Brites.
Duration of the scholarship(s)
The scholarship will last for 4 months, starting on February 1, 2022. The scholarship contract can be renewed for a maximum of 8 months. A selection reserve list will be created, which can be used for a maximum of 8 months.
Amount of monthly maintenance allowance
The amount of the scholarship corresponds to €446.12 per month, according to the table of values of the scholarships awarded directly by FCT, IP in the Country (http://alfa.fct.mctes.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores), and will be paid by bank transfer by the contracting entity.

Only the 3 candidates who obtained the highest average in all of the completed UCs of the degree they attend will be considered for interview or, in the case of students attending the Master's, the final average of the Degree.
The selection will result from an overall assessment based on the following considerations: curriculum assessment (50%), interview (40%); motivation letter (10%). Only candidates with a weighted average equal to or greater than 15 will be admitted.

Publication/notification of results
The 3 candidates selected and admitted for interview are invited by email. The Public Notice and the final results of the evaluation will be publicized, through a list ordered by final grade obtained, in a public place on the Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa website (www.autonoma.pt), and the successful candidate will be notified by email. All candidates will be notified of the decision by email.
Application deadline and form of submission of applications
The contest is open from 30 November to 31 December 2021.
Applications must be formalized, mandatorily, by sending an application letter accompanied by the following documents: 1) Curriculum vitae; 2) Letter of motivation; 3a) for students who attend a 1st cycle course, proof of enrollment and attendance in that course, with grades obtained in the previous year(s); 3b) for students who attend a 2nd cycle course, proof of enrollment and attendance in that course and a Bachelor's Qualification Certificate. Applications must be submitted by e-mail to the e-mail cip@autonoma.pt, and must include the contest reference in the Subject field BII_2021_5UIDB/04345/2020.
Failure to send any of the documents required in the application is a reason for exclusion (according to Art. 10 of Regulation No. 950/2019 on FCT Research Grants).
Complaint deadline
After the final decision, and notification to the candidates, it must be taken within 15 working days, or appeal to the highest executive body of the funding entity within 30 working days.
At the end of the scholarship period, the scholarship holder must complete an activity report. This report must describe in detail all the activities carried out, the period of time spent with them and the objectives achieved.

Results
The competition was held for the award of a Research Initiation Grant (BII) within the scope of the R&D Unit – Psychology Research Center – CIP with the reference BII _2021_5_UIDB/04345/2020, in the scientific area: Psychology, with FCT/MCTES funding.
Six applications were received. Initially, three candidates were excluded: Barbara Ursine, for not meeting the mandatory admission requirements; Taha Ahmadi, for not meeting the mandatory admission requirements and not having training in the scientific area of the contest; Rita Alexandra de Sousa Almeida, for failure to present the documents required in the Invitation to Bid.
The three remaining candidates were selected for interview: Cátia Moreira, Dulce Dias and Hélder Caldeira. At the end of the interview, the candidate Hélder Caldeira was excluded, as he develops a professional activity and cannot benefit from a grant on an exclusive basis (according to No. of the FCT).
After conducting the interviews, the jury classified the two candidates based on the following parameters: curriculum assessment (50%), interview (40%); motivation letter (10%). The results are as follows:
Dulce Days: 71.50 %
Cátia Moreira: 70.00 %
The candidate selected for the Research Initiation Scholarship was Dulce Dias.
