Admission requirements:

a) hold a Master's degree in Psychology;

b) candidates must be enrolled in a doctoral study programme;

c) not exceed, with the conclusion of the scholarship contract in question, including any renewals, the accumulated period of one year of enjoyment of this type of scholarship, continuous or intermittent;

d) Not having already been a beneficiary of any other research grant funded directly or indirectly by the FCT.

 Eligibility of candidates: applicants must meet the eligibility conditions provided for in article 9 of the FCT IP Research Grant Regulation (2019).

preference criteria

– Experience in quantitative data analysis (SPSS, PROCESS and AMOS);

– Publication of scientific articles with quantitative methodology and dyadic data;

– Fluency in writing in English.

Work plan

Full-time position of collaboration in the research projects “Intergenerational transmission of trauma in a military context: a mixed methodology study with military families” and “Relationship between sleep quality, bullying, academic performance and classroom behavior in school-age children”. Duties include literature review; processing and analysis of quantitative data already collected; participation in the writing of scientific articles.

 Goals to be achieved: Preparation of literature reviews; quantitative analysis of collected data; collaboration in the preparation of scientific articles for submission to international journals.

Workplace

The work will be carried out in person at the facilities of the Psychology Research Center – CIP, of the Autonomous University of Lisbon, Rua de Santa Marta, 47, 4º, 1150–293, Lisbon, under the guidance of Professor Rute Brites.

Duration of the scholarship(s)

Duration of 3 months, scheduled to start in October 1, 2024. A selection reserve list will be required, which may be used for a maximum of 1 month. Grant contracts may be renewable for up to a maximum of three months, in accordance with the provisions of the Research Grant Regulations of the Foundation for Science and Technology, IP

The value of the grants corresponds to €1,259.64 according to the table of values of grants awarded directly by the FCT, (https://www.fct.pt/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/Tabela-de-Valores-SMM_atualizacao-2024.pdf), and as draft contract. Grants will be paid monthly by bank transfer by the contracting entity.

Exclusivity regime: The performance of duties as a scholarship holder is carried out on an exclusive basis, under the terms set out in article 5 of the Research Scholarship Holder Statute and the Research Scholarship Regulations.

Selection criteria and methods: Only the three candidates who meet the admission requirements and present the best results in the preferential factors will be considered for interview. Candidates will be assessed according to the following weightings: curriculum evaluation (70%), interview (20%) and cover letter (10%). Only candidates with a weighted average equal to or higher than 15 points will be admitted.

Publication/notification of results

Candidates selected and admitted for interview will be invited by email. The Notice and the evaluation results will be published, in a list ordered by final grade obtained, in a public place on the CIP website (and the Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa website).https://autonoma.pt/category/artigos/bolsas-de-investigacao/), and successful candidates will be notified by email. All candidates will be notified of the decision by email.

The competition is open during the period from August 26 to September 9, 2024. Applications must be formalized by sending the following documents in digital format (PDF format):

Curriculum vitae in Ciência Vitae format (must contain all assessment elements of admission requirements);

– Certificate of Qualifications conferring an academic degree within the term requested in the notice, which includes the final grades;

– Motivation Letter;

– Other documents considered relevant that certify what is described in the CV.

Proof of enrollment in a study cycle leading to an academic degree must be presented before signing the contract.
