MILAGE: INTERACTIVE MATHEMATICS IMPLEMENTING A BLENDED-LEARNING MODEL WITH AUGMENTED REALITY AND GAME BOOKS

In this project, we intend to extend the traditional learning environment to a virtual classroom environment that will keep students connected to learn math, exploring motivating math tools. We want to take advantage of mobile devices to teach and learn. We want to implement an approach to teaching and learning mathematics that also accommodates game mechanics that is twofold: complexity and detail. You will have three different levels of problem complexity: initial, intermediate and advanced. On the other hand, each problem will have two levels of explanations / resolutions: detailed and concise. In this way, all students will be accommodated in a student-centered learning environment. Underperforming students who may have difficulty learning the materials covered in class can study and repeat the materials as many times as they need. Students will have access to complex problems and activities that can provide additional stimulation for students with better performance. Teachers will also be more confident to give their students homework. With this project we intend to provide support so that we can contribute to improving the math skills of all students.
