A call for bids for a research grant (BIPD - Doctor) is open within the scope of the R&D institution, Psychology Research Centre - CIP, of Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa, with reference UID/ 04345/2020 and the financial support of the FCT/MCTES through national funds (PIDDAC). The conditions are as follows:

Mandatory admission requirements:

Ph.D. in Psychology (obtained in the last three years, at the date of application);

Candidates must meet the eligibility conditions set out in Art.º 9 of the Regulamento de Research Grants da FCT I.P (2019).

Preference criteria

- PhD in Development Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Neurosciences or related field;

- Publication of scientific articles;

- Experience in data analysis, namely AMOS;

- Fluency in writing in English.

Work plan:

Full-time position of collaboration within the scope of family studies and child development in the international projects "Family functioning: coparenting and child adjustment: A cross cultural study" and "Multi-challenged families: Parenting styles, stimuli preference social dominance orientation in early childhood". Tasks include collaborating in the coordination of data collection from parents and pre-school children; carrying out data analysis and participating in the writing of scientific articles.

Objectives to be achieved: obtaining data from 100 participant families. Preparation of an oral communication for submission to an international scientific event. Writing of three papers for submission to an international journal.

The work will be carried out in person at the premises of CIP - Psychology Research Centre of Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa, Rua de Santa Marta, 47, 3-1169, Lisbon, 023th floor, room 304, under the guidance of Dr Mónica Pires.

The fellowship will last for 12 months, starting April 01, 2022. A selection reserve list will be created and may be used for up to a maximum of 8 months.

The fellowship amount corresponds to XNUMX€ per month, according to the fellowships amounts table directly attributed by the FCT, I.P. in the country ( and will be paid by bank transfer, monthly, by the contracting entity.

Criteria and selection procedure

Three candidates who meet the admission requirements and according to the preference criteria will be considered for interview. Candidates will be evaluated according to the following considerations: curriculum evaluation (70%), interview (20%) and motivation letter (10%). Only candidates with a weighted average of 15 or higher will be admitted.

the three candidates admitted for interview are invited by email. After a final decision has been made and candidates have been informed, appeals must be made within 15 working days, or sent to the highest executive body of the financing entity within 30 working days.


The grant holder must submit, until 60 working days after the end of the grant, a final report of the activities, in digital format. This report should describe, in detail, all the activities carried out, the time spent on them, the objectives achieved and the respective URL addresses (if applicable).

On the fifteenth day of March, two thousand and twenty-two, the jury of the competition for the award of a Post-Doctoral Research Grant (BIPD) met within the scope of the R&D Unit – Center for Research in Psychology – CIP, with reference BIPD _2022_2_UID/04345/2020, scientific area of P.

The President of the Jury, Prof. Dr. Rute Brites, and the effective members, Prof. Dr. Mónica Pires and Prof. Dr. Tânia Brandão were present.

The Jury members evaluated the documentation required for the selection process based on the mandatory requirements (PhD in Psychology obtained in the last three years and Degree in Psychology). The candidate was excluded because she obtained her Doctor's Degree more than 3 years ago, in 2018. _____________________________________________________________

Thus, the contest was closed with no candidate admitted. Professor Rute Brites, President of the Jury, was mandated by the Jury to contact the excluded candidate.
